Only when you feel great, then you can make the people around you feel great. Now, isn’t that a good enough reason to start leading a healthy lifestyle? Start right now with these tips!

Physical Health

Your body is like the vehicle to your talents and potential, so it only makes sense to take great care of it! Start by eating right and having enough rest. And throw in physical activities into the mix for the perfect physical health! Keeping yourself physically healthy will not only allow you to feel better but also feel more energetic every day.

Nutrition

RIRB (rubbish in, rubbish out). We are what we eat. So it only makes sense to eat right, and we are talking about good and proper nutrition. Fuel your body with the right stuff and it will run like a well tuned engine. The benefits of having a proper diet:

• your immune system fights better against diseases
• less likely to fall sick
• better physical shape

Some great tips you can use to kickstart good eating habits for a healthier body today, everyday!

• Include more fruits and vegetables in your diet. They are rich in vitamins and minerals that keep your body healthy and strengthen your immune system. You should eat at least 200g of fruits and 200g of vegetables everyday.
• Read food labels. They provide you with all the nutritional information about the food that you are eating (or will be buying).
• Choose food products that are generally lower in fat and sodium (salt) and higher in dietary fibre and calcium.

Be physically active!

Besides eating right, you must be physically active! Reap the benefits of reduced risk of cardiovascular diseases, feel more confident and better about yourself! Exercising also improves your energy level and concentration and at the same time relieves stress and anxiety. It will be time well-spent! Do at least 30 minutes of mid-level activities like brisk-walking, swimming, cycling or dancing 5 days a week. Get a friend or person close to you to help you stay motivated. It is great social time too!

Mental Health

Now that you have a healthy body to carry you, it is important to stay peak in your mental health too! Being in the state of well-being can generate many positive returns for you too! You will be able to better cope with the normal stresses of life and be productive, do fruitful work and have a effective life. In turn, you will be able to realize your own potential and contribute to the community better!

Here’s how you can build good mental health:

• Have some “me”-time. Set aside time to do something that you enjoy which helps to soothe anxiety or stress. Go for a run, listen to your favourite music or go for a relaxing massage. Relax your mind.
• Talk to people! Especially those close to you. They can give you inspiration or ideas, and especially emotional and psychological support in times of need.
• Feel good about yourself. Be confident of being you! Build up your self-esteem and keep a positive mindset! Have the confidence to face anything that life may throw at you.

Stay away from smokes.

Smoking kills. Smoking kills your health, your energy level and eventually…. YOU. Make the decision to quit or stay away is probably one of the best decision you will ever make. You will be physically, emotionally and financially better off. Quit smoking today!
